Itinerary:  Our Itinerary looks like this:
Feb 14th Friday   Drive to Denver Stay near Airport
Feb 15th Saturday Fly to Hermosillo and Drive to Nuevo Kino
Feb 16th Sunday “Gaining a sense of place”
o Sensory, creative writing exercise
o Hike up Punta Ignacio
o Introduction to ecology and natural history of marin


Feb 17th Monday Rocky Intertidal Explorations
o Tides. The effects of the moon and the sun.
o Introduction to Taxonomy, “Why do we categorize things?”
o Phyla presentations



Feb 18th Tuesday BOAT DAY
o Island Formation, ecology and conservation
o Marine Mammal Spotting and Identification
o Snorkeling


Feb 19th Wednesday  Geography and Geology of the Gulf of California
o Geology lesson
o Map drawing
o Building the Gulf of California in the Sand
ß Conceptualizing trenches, islands, upwelling


Feb 20th Thursday Estuarine Explorations
o Ecology of estuaries
o Seabird and shorebird identification
o Cultural exchange activity (Seri or Kino Ecology Club)
o Human use of estuaries


Feb 21st Friday Return to Colorado  - Interim Presentations 3:00 pm
